Croatia

Croatian cuisine is, in fact, the cuisine of its regions. The specificity and diversity of each region have influenced the specificity and diversity of a whole number of regional cuisines.

The biggest differences in the selection of ingredients and the ways of preparation can be seen if we compare the continent and the coast. The cuisine of the continent has an early Slavic origin and some newer contacts with more renowned gastronomic representatives - Hungarian, Viennese and Turkish cuisines. The coastal region is characterized by the influence of the Greek, Romans and Illyrians as well as later Mediterranean cuisines - Italian and French.
