Teresa Gutiérrez is the owner and chef at the Azafrán Restaurant opened since October 2008. Although she began the career of Dentistry, but she discover that her vocation was to be a chef and she trained at the School of Hostelry of Valencia and at the School of Hostelry of Avignon. Before opening her own restaurant, she spent several years in several kitchens in Spain. She is part of the Online School of Master Chef as a teacher and has participated in the second edition of Top Chef. In January 2013, she was among the seven finalists for Cook Revelation in Madrid Fusión. In 2019, she has had the privilege of receiving the JRE National Gastronomy Award in San Sebastián for the Best National Trajectory in Cooking.
Teresa makes a kitchen of Manchego roots slightly adapted to the present, respecting above all the native products such as fruits, vegetables and mushrooms of the ground. Manchego lamb, sheep cheese from La Mancha and game meat. In addition, Teresa is trained in dietetics and nutrition, which gives special importance to the union between gastronomy and a balanced diet.
