Restaurant Atelier is located in an old tailor’s studio. In this historic building, you will find a modern industrial interior. Tough, natural materials and linen on the table, aka 'casual chic'. From jeans to tuxedo - as befits a former tailor's studio - everyone is welcome. Chef Hans Kinkartz's cooking style is classically modern with a worldly touch. In addition to classic wines, hostess and sommelier Ellen Kinkartz has also selected innovative organic and biodynamic wines for the wine list. Take a seat in the restaurant or at the bar with a view of the open kitchen and taste the Kinkartz’ signature in this unique atelier.

As the son of the milkman, Hans Kinkartz earns his first pocket money at the local bakery. This leads him to enrol in Hospitality School. There, he discovers he prefers to be a chef rather than a baker. During his education, he interns in a hotel in Switzerland for a year. This is where he learns that, to be a great chef, you have to be able to work hard and that you have to put in a lot of hours. Immediately after high school, he is hired as a sous-chef at Auberge De Rousch. It's a big step and everything revolves around organisation and stress resistance. After a few detours, Kinkartz winds up at Castle Vaeshartelt, where it’s all about banqueting. When he is approached for the position of chef at Hotel Bellevue, he seizes this opportunity with both hands. Along the way, Hans Kinkartz meets his current partner Ellen. They share the dream of opening their own restaurant. During a dinner at Atelier - the former 'Chez Q' - Kinkartz expresses their dream to the owner, which turns out to be the perfect comment at the right moment and place. On January 1, 1999, Restaurant Atelier opens its doors with the right gastronomic vision, as evidenced by the honourable mentions in various guides.
