After his studies, Ward Kusters takes on a temporarily job as a dishwasher. There he meets his current partners Lieke and Jeroen. As a dishwasher, he can help out in the kitchen and fall in love with the cooking profession. He decides to follow the Cas Spijkers Academy and can apprentice at renowned catering businesses. He learns the refined cooking techniques from Koen Somers of Restaurant De Kristalijn. Syrco Bakker of Pure C insists on the essence of taste and in particular the difference between simply good and extremely good. These teachers give Ward the confidence to start his own business.
