Restaurant Tante Kee is located on the picturesque island of Kaag, only 25 minutes from Amsterdam and The Hague. Patron Cuisinier Raymond Reeb and hostess Kim Edwards have recently given restaurant Tante Kee a new look. The interior is modern, light and gives a nod to the Old Dutch Tante Kee. In the thirties, Tante Kee is best known for her pancakes, nowadays, it’s for her French cuisine with oriental accents. A real eye-catcher is the photo of Tante Kee 2.0, taken by top photographer Erwin Olaf. All seats in the restaurant offer a view of the Kagerplassen. Take the ferry from Buitenkaag or moor your boat at Tante Kee's own jetty and take a seat at the waterfront on one of the most beautiful terraces in the Netherlands.

As a young boy, Raymond Reeb is often found in the kitchen with his Indonesian grandmother and aunts. This is where his passion for cooking commences. He decides to go to baking school and then to culinary school. As an apprentice, he works at Les Pyramides and Les Jumeaux, restaurants of a high standard. At Le Chat Noir, there's a lot going on. After work on Sunday evenings, he and Chef Van Wezel travel to Paris to purchase the best products for the menu. Reeb is then apprenticed to Master Chef Rien Heemskerk of restaurant Kempers Roef. He gets his first job Chef de Partie in restaurant Meerrust. Hard work, quick switching, planning and peaking is the motto in this luxurious restaurant. Here, Reeb literally grows towards the position of head chef. The next step is La Vinã, where he learns entrepreneurial skills. In 2003, Raymond Reeb and partner Kim Edwards are approached to take over Tante Kee. They don’t have to think twice. Together, they start the adventure and successfully put Tante Kee on the map again.

You can stay overnight at B&B De Kaagse Boer -on the island itself- or at Villa Beukenhof in Oegstgeest. The Kagerplassen offer a lot for recreation on the water and ashore.
