Christian Mittermeier's young team concentrates on the essentials in the traditional boutique hotel on the outskirts of Rothenburg's old town: good taste! A modern, casual fine dining concept awaits guests in the restaurant from Tuesday to Saturday. The style is authentic and straightforward. In addition there are wines from our own vineyards. Those who are open to new ideas will find the concept hotel "Mittermeier's Alter Ego" in the immediate vicinity. The impressive Wilhelminian style villa today combines the quality and professionalism of a high-end hotel with the freedom of a private apartment. Not either or, but the best of both worlds. For people who have no desire for mediocrity.

Jacques Cousteau was the hero of his childhood days and Christian Mittermeier actually wanted to become a marine explorer. But then everything turned out quite differently: first he learned butcher, then cook and today he dives in his traditional restaurant "Villa Mittermeier" at the Würzburg Gate in Rothenburg ob der Tauber mainly between pots and pans. For him, however, cooking is much more than preparing food - it is an act of care and attention and requires a certain "attitude": "Cooking is a matter close to our hearts ... and traditional cuisine is the basis of our craft. Fresh, high-quality and healthy products are processed by us. Others do not. Hospitality is a virtue for us and is lived daily. For the guests of our villa it should become noticeable and even tasteable. ...We are old-fashioned and insist on it, even if many other ways seem tempting and easier."
In the traditional hotel and restaurant at the Würzburger Tor, Christian Mittermeier cooks contemporary, modern cuisine that takes local produce from the region and creatively combines it with the best ingredients from all over the world. The result is a world of taste, which Mittermeier shows in all his creativity and which is peppered with his culinary ingenuity. The wines from Mittermeier's own vineyards go just as well with this as the homemade verjus, honey and mustrich.Villa Mittermeier spoils its guests with haute cuisine, but also with a hotel culture characterised by attention to detail, creativity and personality. The maître of the hotel and his wife have long conquered the hearts of guests from near and far. He himself - one of the ten Geniesserland chefs - can confidently be counted among the top German chefs. Christian Mittermeier's cuisine is rich in exciting counterpoints, but without the loud sounds of fashionable cuisine.
Former kingdom, today Free State: Bavaria offers many reasons to love it: the hearty cuisine, the beer, the good Franconian wine, its dialect, the Bavarian way of life, the beautiful landscape before the Alps. In Franconia, small walled towns with historic townscapes, such as Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Rothenburg ob der Tauber), the many beer gardens in Munich, the Hofbräuhaus or the Oktoberfest in autumn, are alluring. Tourist magnets are also the university city of Erlangen and the toy city of Nuremberg, as well as the three-river cities of Passau, Regensburg, Würzburg, Augsburg, Berchtesgaden and Mittenwald. In Bavaria mountaineers and mountain hikers, skiers and water sports enthusiasts and many others get their money's worth. And at the highest point of the federal state, the 2963-metre-high Zugspitze, you have a breathtaking view of the high mountains of the Alps under a Bavarian blue sky, the "Kaiserwetter".
