The extra virgin olive oil "San Rocco", produced by the Fernetich family as part of their estate, deservedly found itself among the world's best olive oils in the Flos olei guide. It is obtained from the century-old olive grove that surrounds the hotel and is proudly served in the restaurant "San Rocco" and for beauty treatments as part of the hotel's wellness offer.
Flos olei is the only guide in the world for extra virgin olive oils, and Istria, with its 60 olive growers and oil producers out of a total of 500 in the guide, really shone and confirmed that it is still at the top of the world olive and gastronomic offer. Due to the number and quality of oils that were evaluated, it was declared the highest quality olive growing region in the world.
Leaving behind olive-growing superpowers such as Tuscany and Spanish Andalusia, Istria, with a much more modest capacity in oil production, hopes for much higher exports and placement on world markets.
