Ending up in Vienna because of love, chef Sören Herzig now runs his very own gourmet restaurant together with his wife, host Saskia. Located on the outskirts of Fünfhaus, the chef has transformed the gigantic concrete building, which used to be an auction house and pawn office, into one of the city’s coolest dining spots: restaurant Herzig.
Chef Sören Herzig’s cooking style is all about breaking existing rules, over and over again. Reflecting a great sense of cosmopolitan curiosity, Herzig serves innovative dishes that simply can't be defined by traditional standards. Restaurant Herzig offers a 7-course menu, but you can also order meals à la carte. The chef’s specialties include the Tristan lobster with pumpkin, coriander capers and crustacean jus; and pigeon étouffée with curd, calvados and Piedmontese hazelnut. To round off your experience, you can try the chef’s tarte au citron crumble with Amalfi lemon. Good to know: vegetarian options are available upon request. The restaurant also offers an exciting selection of rare wines and lovely fruit juices.
