Restaurant Bentinck

A former stable of the historic estate surrounding Amerongen Castle now houses restaurant Bentinck. The restaurant’s interior is the best-preserved historical stable interior in the Netherlands. The tapestry, painted by artist Claudy Jongstra, and the wine cellar, formerly the tack room, are absolute eye-catchers.

In the kitchen, the chefs create contemporary Dutch cuisine. A traditional castle vegetable garden, Eastern spices, and regional foods from the Utrechtse Heuvelrug inspire the dishes. Restaurant Bentinck is the perfect place for lunch, dinner, a cup of coffee, or any other memorable moment at a unique location.

Bentinck’s cuisine

In the kitchen of Bentinck restaurant, the vegetables and herbs harvested from the castle's historic vegetable garden play a key role. The restaurant offers various possibilities for extraordinary private dining, such as the spectacular chef’s table overlooking the open kitchen. The gardens still contain historic elements, like the conservatory dating from the 1890s. Various events take place on the estate throughout the year, as well as tours of the historic castle itself.
