After studying at the Ter Groene Poorte Hotel School, chef Steven Dehaeze lost his heart to hospitality and gastronomy. In his very own restaurant, Culinair, he beautifully showcases his love of experimenting with new products and cooking styles.
The restaurant’s menu truly reflects chef Steven’s artistry. He works with seasonal products, locally-grown ingredients, and regional suppliers. The fresh herbs and edible flowers come from the chef’s own garden, while the cheese wagon presents locally-produced cheeses from the region, such as “Old Groendal” from nearby cheese farm 't Groendal. Steven’s dishes are complemented by a lovely wine list, carefully selected by sommelier Lisa Sibilla. Restaurant Culinair also organizes special events, such as cooking demonstrations and truffle theme nights. During summer, the restaurant offers a special lobster menu.
This inn is conveniently located in the town of Lauwe, in West Flanders province. Here, you’re just 5.5 kilometers away from the city of Kortrijk and its many museums, historic churches, and modern architectural highlights. The cities of Rijsel and Ieper are also within reach (30 minutes by car). Lauwe itself is the perfect starting point if you want to go cycling or hiking, as cycling routes and recreation area Preshoekbos are just around the corner.
2015, chef Steven and Lisa expanded their restaurant with a hypermodern accommodation. That same year, their villa was named the best scoring B&B in the Belgian TV contest "Met Vier in Bed".Located right next to the restaurant, B&B Culinair offers 3 guest rooms. You can choose between two different themes: “natural” (calm and neutral color palette) and “vintage” (modern retro with red accents). Each room has a double bed, a fully equipped bathroom, and a private balcony with lovely garden view.In addition, guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, private parking, and free breakfast. The outdoor pool is accessible from spring to autumn.
