Restaurant TROYKA

With its move from Heinsberg to Neu-Immerath, Michelin-starred restaurant Burgstuben-Residenz also got a new name: Restaurant TROYKA. This bistro and gourmet restaurant is run by three friends, among which chef Alexander Wulf. Alexander’s creative Russian specialties were honoured with a Michelin star and 16 points from Gault Millau. At TROYKA, you can indulge in his dishes in an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to the open kitchen, you’re able to observe how the two chefs and their team cook up exquisite creations. And if you want an extra exclusive gastronomic experience, you can dine at the chef’s table. In any case, expect to embark on an authentic, unforgettable culinary journey through faraway Russia.

Drawing culinary inspiration from his mother’s homeland, Russia, chef Alexander Wulf demonstrates great creativity and artistry in the kitchen. His gastronomic talents already started shining through at an early age. After his training, Alexander studied with chef Joachim Wissler and chef Dieter Müller, and at restaurants like the Steinheuer restaurant and the Château Wagyu in Belgium.

TROYKA’s cuisine

With a great eye for sustainability, chef Alexander Wulf only works with fresh and organic ingredients from the region. In fact, he even grows the herbs and vegetables for his dishes himself, in the restaurant’s own garden. His rules are strictly followed in the kitchen: lots of olive oil instead of butter, only the freshest fish and crustaceans, and homemade bread.  Honouring his cultural heritage, Alexander aims to show how refined and delicate Russian haute cuisine can be. This results in seasonal, light, modern and, above all, artistic creations. His signature dish? His “Siberian vegetable garden”: an aromatic, sweet and sour revelation with different types of vegetables.

Erkelenz area

Restaurant TROYKA is situated in Neu-Immerath (Erkelenz), a municipality in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Despite being Germany’s most populated state, it offers many idyllic and diverse landscapes. Including the Bay of Cologne, the Soester Börde, the Rhine, the Eifel, and the Bergisches, Sauer and Münsterland. Two of the state's biggest cities are Cologne and Düsseldorf. Both are perfect if you’re in the mood for a city trip. But the small towns of Detmold and Aachen are also very much worth a visit. Some interesting sights in Erkelenz itself include Museum der Mineralien, Golfclub Wildenrath, and Schloss Rurich.
