Villa Ariston’s cuisine

Hotel restaurant Villa Ariston serves exciting dishes that showcase a fusion of the traditional and the modern. The experienced chef and his kitchen team work with fish and seafood from Kvarner bay, as well as seasonal ingredients that are typical for the regional mountain cuisine. The restaurant offers a 5-course tasting menu which varies daily, but you can also order à la carte. Among the chef’s classic signature dishes are white Adriatic fish, grilled Kvarner scampi, and grilled spiny Mediterranean lobster with a seasonal salad. On the wine list you’ll find domestic red and white wines from Istria, Kvarner, and Dalmatia – as well as orange wines, rosé wines, and dessert wines from Slavonia and Plesivica. In addition to the local labels, you can also order champagnes, sparkling wines and other excellent options from Italy, France, Austria (Gruner Veltliner), and Germany (Riesling).

Opatija area

Nestled between the Istrian peninsula and the northern Croatian Littoral mainland lies the town of Opatija. This town along the Kvarner Gulf is known as a traditional seaside resort. Its historical architecture reminds you of the Austrian Riviera. And thanks to the pleasant Mediterranean climate, there’s plenty to explore throughout the year. Attractive landmarks include Opatija Sv. Jakova (a 14th-century Benedictine abbey), Villa Angiolina (museum), and “the Maiden with the seagull” (statue by Zvonko Car). Opatija’s town park, Angiolina, is also worth a visit: it has been protected since 1968 and contains an array of fascinating plant species from far and wide.

Boutique hotel

Boutique hotel Villa Ariston is situated at the very waterfront. With its alluring swimming pool and wine bar, this charming boutique hotel is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway in Opatija. Here, Kvarner’s islands as well as the hinterland are within reach.  Next to its comfortable hotel rooms, Villa Ariston also offers a Presidential Apartment and a Junior Suite, furnished in the style of the Austro-Hungarian period. From here, you have a stunning sea view.
