Daniel Schmidthaler is born in Upper Austria, where he learns the chef's profession. Then he goes out into the world - he gains experience at "Tristan" on the island of Mallorca and at Formula 1. Later, he moves to Germany where he works at restaurant "Quadriga" in Berlin and even further north in the "Kutscherhaus" in Templin, which at that time is run by his wife Nicole. From there they go to Fürstenhagen together, where Daniel cooks himself a Michelin star with his exquisite regional cuisine. His Austrian side still emerges every now and again, so guests can expect to find some Austrian delicacies on the menu.
Idyllically situated in the Mecklenburg Lake District, "Hotel und Restaurant Alte Schule" is located in Fürstenhagen. It is the place of work of star chef Daniel Schmidthaler.
