Achim Schwekendiek's dream women, in terms of food, are Iris Berben, Barbara Schöneberger and his own wife. Probably in reverse order. He would like to cook together with the first one, because in his opinion she knows a lot about eating and drinking. With the second, he would enjoy spending a night in his kitchen, and with the third he would definitely go out for dinner more often, preferably in Paris. At least that's what the top chef said in an interview. And somehow this matches his motto: "Make the most of your life - and live every day intensively and happily". Besides cooking, it's intensive sports that makes the 50-year-old happy. The discipline and endurance that these sports demand of him, he successfully implements in his job as well. In his kitchen - in the elegant ambience of the Schlosshotel Münchhausen in the middle of the Weserbergland - he is known for his technical perfection and playful creativity. The results are passionate dishes such as Norwegian lobster with tomato, parmesan gratiné and basil, Poached country egg with leaf spinach, carrot and a herb broth or Ray wings with black currant leaves.

Lower Saxony is diverse and has a bit of everything for everyone; mountains, sea, rivers and cities. "From the Weser to the Elbe, from the Harz to the sea ..." are the lyrics to the song of Niedersachsen. The region has mystical landscapes such as the Teufelsmoor near Bremen, the famous Lüneburger Heide with its Heidschnucken, the East Frisian islands, which are lined up like a string of pearls in the North Sea and the large Wattenmeer Nature Park. Further east the Wiehen Hills, the Lake Steinhude, the Harz and the Solling - one of the largest forest areas in Germany- attract tourists. And also beautiful little towns like Lüneburg, Oldenburg, the old imperial city Goslar, Cuxhaven - at the mouth of the Elbe - or the half-timbered village Celle are worth a visit. And those who have tried the North German "Kohl und Pinkel" will not soon forget the hearty and tasty green cabbage dish.
