Press release: Dining with the Stars is back for the 5th year at the Diamonds Resorts

Dining with the Stars, a gastronomic event of the highest caliber, returns once again to the exclusive destinations of the Diamonds Resorts in the Maldives and Zanzibar. From January to April 2019, 53 talents of JRE – Jeunes Restaurateurs, will each spend a week in the kitchens of Diamonds Resorts, offering guests a multi-sensory experience. Now in its fifth year, this initiative dedicated to food has become one of the most important for the Planhotel Hospitality Group, designed to ensure that guests enjoy an even more unique and unforgettable experience.

From January to April, 53 talents of JRE - the internationally recognized association of young talented chefs - will alternate, each spending a week in the kitchens of Diamonds Resorts, offering guests a multi-sensory experience: in the Maldives the experience will include a gourmet dinner with signature dishes, a show-cooking session at the resort's main restaurant and a special "Chef's Table" evening where the chef will cook with the guests; in Zanzibar, guests will attend a gala dinner, enjoy a cooking class and a four-handed dinner with the visiting chef and the resort's executive chef, Bjorn Van Den Oever.

The initiative involves JRE Chefs from all over Europe. Including the Slovenian Ana Roš (at Athuruga from 14 to 20 January), of the Hiša Franko restaurant in Kobarid, named the best woman chef in the world by «50 Best Restaurants», German Chef Michael Kammermeier ("ENTE" im Nassauer Hof, Wiesbaden), Belgian Chef Giovanni Oosters (Vous lé Vous, Wimmertingen) and Swiss Chef Damien Germanier (Damien Germanier, Sion).

Chef Ana Roš will also participate in an unforgettable four-handed dinner at Diamond Thudufushi with Super Chef Ernesto Iaccarino, of the Don Alfonso Restaurant in Naples. This truly exclusive event will see two great names in gastronomy cooking together for the first time.

Dining with the Stars will be held in three of the group's most exclusive resorts. In the Maldives, the twin atolls Diamonds Athuruga and Diamonds Thudufushi, situated in the crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean, offer the perfect balance between the beauty of the natural environment and the excellence of an all-inclusive service. In Africa, Diamonds Star of the East, the most exclusive resort in Zanzibar, boasts eleven private villas, each with their own plunge pool surrounded by nature and the colours of Africa.
