Amused Food & Wine is located at the head of the port of Hardenberg on the river Vecht in the center of Hardenberg. In the restaurant, natural tones dominate in a pleasant, spacious setting. Patron-Cuisinier Chiel de Groot conjures up dishes from his kitchen, based primarily on classic French cuisine with a contemporary twist. Creativity plays the leading role in the refined dishes. The ingredients come from the Vechtdal as often as possible. The sommeliers Corine Vink and Willy Huisken combine the dishes with wines from mainly small winemakers, who can often still be found in the vineyard.

It tickled early. Chiel de Groot works in the restaurant world from the age of 15. At his dish washing job, he was soon allowed to assist in the kitchen. Almost immediately the choice was made to become a chef. Via the Bootsman in Stegeren, the Sun in Ommen and the Koperen Hoogte in Nieuwleusen he arrives in his red Peugeot 106 at the Bagatelle in Mariënheem as an apprentice cook. In 5 years he works his way up to Chef. In the 8 years that follow he develops his own individual cooking style, which you just have to taste. In March 2017 he will get the chance to build Amused Food & Wine from scratch. Entirely according to his own insights and striving for perfection.

Creativity is the keyword in Chiel de Groot's kitchen. Of course the products are of the highest level, farm fresh and if good enough also from as nearby as possible. Herbs and flowers are grown on the large terrace, guaranteeing an exciting and relaxing evening with all the 'little crackes' in the dishes. The combination of a large dose of effort and a very good right hand (Wilco Tensen) forms the basis for many beautiful memories of our guests.
The location directly on the Vecht naturally invites to a delicious aperitif on the water. You sail with the sloop upstream or downstream to the nicest places on the, according to many, most beautiful river in the Netherlands. Champagne on board in combination with a tasty appetizer should not be missed. Once back ashore you take a seat in the restaurant and the evening is filled in with a 4-course dinner with a few appetizers. You can book this package from 2 people for the price of 75 Euro.
