Our restaurant’s name is Esszimmer – dining room, because I want to welcome our guests as if we were at my place. That’s it – very simple. The dining room is light and fresh and airy. Oakwood floors, benches, walls and ceilings in natural fir, chairs in maple wood. I think we created a room with a really nice vibe. I am always searching for new ideas to improve its atmosphere – after all, it is also our dining room.

My original plan was to spend 10 learning and wandering years abroad. In the end, 10 years turned into 13, but now I am back and want to find out what I can accomplish here, at home.
My parents Antonia & Wolfgang made the Schwanen what it is today: A certified organic hotel with an outstanding reputation. Returning from my learning and wandering years in New York and San Francisco, I was lucky enough to become the new owner and host of the Schwanen. Wolfgang will continue to attend to our guests as my partner, and Antonia can now fully focus on cooking.
Of course I miss NYC. The crowds of people trying to squeeze into the subway. Water leaking from air conditioners in summer, and having the opportunity to do whatever comes to mind at any given time. But I digress.

To this day, women have been the vital driving force in the Schwanen. Each and every one of them has made the Schwanen more attractive and loveable in her own special way. Now, finally, they also have the title they deserve: WILD WOMEN.

Sophisticated simplicity and high-quality materials. Everything you need, but nothing unnecessary. Our region’s craftsmen and natural wood are the big players here. Christian Greußing from Bezau laid the oak wood floors, while the walls were made from brushed silver fir by Kaspar Greber in Bezau. Beds and Swiss pine slatted frames by Markus Faißt, Hittisau.
Bizau is characterized by its modern wooden architecture, but it has yet never lost its charming rural character. It is surrounded by beautiful meadows, forests and mountains. Bizau’s moorland is flanked by smooth hills and the rugged silhouette of the Kanisfluh, our beloved backyard mountain. Its beautiful landscape is perfect for so many different activities from walking and hiking to mountain biking.
