Sommelier: Melanie Csencsits
The regional focus is also confirmed by the wine list. At its heart are wines from Southern Burgenland, many of which are represented in a full range of vintages and in larger formats.
The fact that an exciting selection doesn’t necessarily have to be large in scope is evidenced very pointedly here: A preference for Burgenland reds as well as whites, some from Germany, France or southern neighbouring regions, little in the way of mainstream, and always with a considerable selection of open wines tailored to the menu itself. As a local speciality, Uhudler Frizzante is served as an aperitif, while alcohol-free enjoyment is provided by homemade juices.
The rye, spelt and walnut breads served with fine spreads are baked in-house. Also homemade are their fruit syrups including elderberry and lemon-rosemary.
Jürgen Csencsits also showcases his inspirational power in catering as well as multi-course menus served at select locations. From creative buffets to a classic Southern Burgenland wedding menu, everything is possible.
One very special event at Gasthaus Csencsits is the Bohemian Fair (annually in July), with a delectable selection of regional dishes such as knuckle of pork and fried chicken accompanied by Stare Brno beer. The music performed by a traditional banda provides for a high-spirited atmosphere.
Aperitif and wine tasting with JRE-chef Jürgen Csencsits at a renowed wine grower on the Eisenberg. Followed by a 6-course menu with accompanying wines at chef's table where you can peek over the chef's shoulder.
