Before it become a restaurant, the Repovž gostilna was our home. It is one of the oldest buildings in our village. We are the sixth generation that lives and works here. An enviable tradition, which is certainly the main reason why we invest so much passion, love, work and energy in our work. Our doors are open, day by day, from generation to generation with respect to tradition and the environment.

Grega Repovž is a great lover of good food as well as excellent special, lesser known, wines. His relentless enthusiasm ensures the continued success of the vision conceived by his parents, Meta and Jože, and, prior to that, of Jože’s parents. The intertwinements of multiple generations is reflected, above all, in the food and atmosphere, of which the excellent team, who are like one big family, play an important role. Meta reigns in the kitchen, ably assisted by her daughter-in-law Sabina, while Grega and his sister Urška and brother Anže take care of guests.

In 2018 Meta Repovž was acclaimed Slovenia’s ‘traditional chef’ by the Gault Millau culinary guide. Her culinary philosophy is very simple; connected to tradition, memories from her childhood and youth, and to the products from the family’s farm and its surroundings. Together with her daughter-in-law, Sabina, they create flavours which reflect Meta’s experience and knowledge, with a touch of modernity and contemporariness.
We have four rooms for overnight stay. Rooms are simple but warm and include everything you need. We try to make your stay nice and homely; so we prepare Slovenian cosmetics from Renčelj farm from Sežana, who produce cosmetics from lavender. And for the perfect stay there is a very rich, ˝royal˝ breakfast which we prepare for you in the morning and includes several types of domestic products (marmalade, honey, yogurt, cold cuts, apple juice, some sweets, dried fruits, nuts,...).
Our organic farm is our pride and joy. We produce the majority of the food used in our restaurant ourselves. We grow large quantities of various kinds of fruit, mostly Topaz apples, grains such as spelt and buckwheat – which we use for baking bread and biscuits – and the majority of the vegetables used in the restaurant kitchen. We also have a herb garden which, mainly in the spring and summer months, is bursting with herbs that add flavour and appeal to our dishes.
You can also visit our small shop that features products which you can try in our restaurant such as our home produced jams, apple juice, apple vinegar, dried apples, different kinds of liqueurs, wine etc., as well as other products from our suppliers (dried meat, cheese, beer, several types of wines from our surroundings,...).
Our position is in the middle of Šentjanž, next to the beautiful St. Baptist church, all surrounded with nature. From our place you can visit a beautiful castle in Sevnica, which has a special Blaufrankisch event in June. You can also do some biking or hiking, just for fun or visit some organized hiking trails.
