In 2004 he was awarded a Michelin star for the first time for his culinary skills. In the same year, he was awarded the title of "Ascender of the Year" by the magazine "Der Feinschmecker". In 2007 he received the "Brandenburg Master Chef" award and in 2007 and 2008 he was awarded the "Brandenburg Grand Gourmet Prize". In 2019 he was awarded the prize "Promoter of the Culture of Enjoyment" for his services as President of JRE Germany.
