"Widmann's Löwen" used to be a guesthouse with its own agriculture, today "Widmann's Alb.Leben" is a versatile, family-run hotel restaurant. Already the eighth generation of the Widmann family lovingly spoils their guests in the hotel and restaurant. The Widmanns call their close connection with their Swabian homeland "land-conscious". Therefore, the selection of food, the interior of the hotel and the cooking courses are also country-conscious.

Andreas Widmann completed his training as a cook with Michael Oettinger in Oettinger ́s Restaurant in Fellbach-Schmiden and later worked with Steffen Mezger in the restaurant Atelier in the Bayerischer Hof in Munich. In 2010 he became Germany's best young chef and in 2011 he accompanied the World Chefs Tour Against Hunger. After perfecting his knowledge with Tohru Nakamura at Werneckhof, he lived in New Zealand for a while. But it was always clear to Andreas Widmann that he would return to the family business on the Ostalb. And so it came: In 2016 his parents handed over the entire business to him, and in 2017 he passed his chef's examination. Today Andreas Widmann is a passionate cook with a Swabian entrepreneurial spirit. He is committed to regional products, healthy nutrition and sustainability. Together with his wife Anna, he gives free rein to his gastronomic creativity and his ability to meet the highest standards. Both stand for their own style, the perfect symbiosis of Swabian cooking and Austrian hospitality. Their motto "Naturally Swabian" is characterised by well-founded cooking skills and ingenuity.

The creative and gourmet restaurant "ursprung" can be found in the oldest part of the country inn, where the village butchery and the first restaurant of the Widmanns were originally located. And yet it is the youngest offspring of Widmann's Alb.Leben. The culinary offer is characterized by creative culinary art and Swabian enjoyment at the highest level, the guest can expect excellent dishes from regional products. You can choose the large eight-course menu or choose three of the eight courses with the menu "Wünsch dir was". With the four-course menu, guests can choose between the main courses "Vegetables" or "Animals".
The Neckar River divides the "Ländle" into the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb. Worthwhile excursion destinations in Baden-Württemberg are Tübingen with its medieval townscape, but also Freiburg with the famous "Bächle", the narrow watercourses in the alleys of the old town. Lake Constance - the "Swabian Sea" - is popular with cyclists, sailors and hikers. On the southern shore lies the old border and university town of Constance, in the middle of which is the garden and fruit-growing island of Reichenau and the flower island of Mainau. Not to forget: The beautiful Alsace with the romantic Colmar, the university town of Heidelberg with its many baroque red sandstone houses and of course Stuttgart with the "Old" and "New Castle" and the New State Gallery.
