At the age of 16, Oliver Röder moves from the north of Lower Saxony to the distant Tegernsee in order to learn the craft of cooking at the "Parkhotel Egerner Hof". After his apprenticeship under the guidance of Michael Fell in the restaurant "Dichterstub'n*", his path leads him to "Michael Moore Restaurant" London, Gerd Eis, Restaurant "Ente" in the Nassauer Hof Wiesbaden, "Bayerischer Hof" in Munich and to Christian Jürgens at "Burg Wernberg". Today, Oliver Röder works as head chef in gourmet restaurant "Bembergs Häuschen".
Sommelier: Katharina Röder
The motto of "Bembergs Häuschen": Gourmet delights served with a touch of humour. Oliver Röder presents his guests with his own interpretation of German cuisine and gives free rein to his creativity. For example, he serves "cigars" made from pieces of oxtail covered in dough, accompanied by matching oxtail soup - served in a cognac glass. All with a wink. Röder always attaches great importance to regionality. With the best products from the region, he ensures culinary enchantment with exclusive menus in a relaxed atmosphere.
This is where the largest number of people in Germany live. NRW has long been dominated by coal and steel and is today one of the economically strongest regions in Germany. Many first associate Altbier and Kölsch, Karneval and Ruhrpott with the state - but the Bay of Cologne and the Soester Börde, the Rhine and the Eifel, the Bergisches, Sauer and Münsterland have much more to offer vacationers. Cologne is a city of music, art and media. Düsseldorf stands for fashion. The university city of Münster, with its Aasee and Promenade, was crowned "The World's Most Liveable City" in 2004. The small and pretty Detmold in the province of Lippe with the Hermannsdenkmal monument and Externsteine. Aachen with its cathedral. The city of silk and velvet: Krefeld. All popular destinations for excursions. In winter, NRW skiers make the pilgrimage to Winterberg in the Sauerland. In summer, people sail up and down the Rhine. The theatre landscape in the Ruhr area - in Bochum, Essen, Duisburg and Gelsenkirchen - is particularly varied. The Ruhrtriennale, one of the cultural highlights of the region, is known far beyond the borders of the region.
