PHOENIX Restaurant & Bar

Restaurant & Bar

"Open to the world, with a strong regional connection". This description not only characterizes the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital of Düsseldorf - but also the kitchen of Philipp Wolter. In the listed Dreischeibenhaus, an iconic, slim high-rise building in the heart of the city, he runs the "PHOENIX Restaurant & Bar" together with his wife Tanja. The central bar is the link between the bar and restaurant area. The PHOENIX is on the ground floor and, on the first floor, has a "Bel Étage" for private festivities, set dinners, confidential discussions or business events. In addition, an event area with a roof terrace on the 22nd to 24th floors can be used - with a breathtaking view. Philipp Wolter uses these areas with ease and flexibility.

Philipp Wolter

Jeune Restaurateur

It's no exaggeration to say that Philipp Wolter learned from many of the best. After his successful training in the Stuttgart restaurant "Wielandshöhe", he underwent other distinctive positions with Claus-Peter-Lumpp in the "Bareiss", Helmut Thieltges in the "Waldhotel Sonorra" and with Dieter Müller in the "Schlosshotel Lerbach". During his 12 years of self-employment in Bergsichen Land, which was crowned with a Michelin star, among other things, he moved to the city in 2017 and took over the management and kitchen management at PHOENIX - the undoubtedly spectacular location of the Dreischeibenhaus in Düsseldorf.

Cucina

Its spectrum ranges from proven classics of French cuisine to modern food pairing concepts that at first glance present unusual combinations. Common denominator: The typical JRE focus on the highest quality - and here and there a regional impact. "I can't completely deny my northern German origins," says the chef. Philipp Wolter quickly turned the entrance to the former headquarters of the Thyssen Group into a culinary meeting point.

NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA

Versatility is key

Most people in Germany live here. NRW has long been shaped by coal and steel and is now one of the strongest economic regions in Germany. Many first associate Altbier and Kölsch, Karneval and Ruhrpott with the country - the Cologne Bay and Soester Börde, the Rhine and the Eifel, the Bergisches, Sauer- and Münsterland have much more to offer for holidaymakers.

Cologne is a city of music, art and media, Düsseldorf stands for fashion, the university city of Münster won the title "Most liveable city in the world" in 2004 with Aasee and Promenade. The small, pretty Detmold in the Lippe province with the Hermann Monument and external stones in the area, Aachen with its cathedral and the silk weaving town of Krefeld are popular excursion destinations. In winter, the NRW skiers make a pilgrimage to Winterberg in the Sauerland, in summer they sail up or down the Rhine on the many guest ships. The theatre landscape in the Ruhr area - in Bochum, Essen, Duisburg and Gelsenkirchen - is particularly diverse and the Ruhrtriennale, one of the cultural highlights of the region, is known far beyond its borders.
