Zur Alten Post

Steinheuers Restaurant

Steinheuer's restaurant in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler is considered one of the ten best restaurants in Germany. "I want to bring together the things that have been created for each other" is how owner Hans Stefan Steinheuer describes his culinary art. Chef in the restaurant "Landgasthof Poststuben" is Steinheuer's son-in-law Christian Binder, who continues the tradition of the house in his kitchen: playful and experimental, product-related and refined. Cooking with local products is a matter close to both hearts.

Christian Binder

Jeune Restaurateur

From an early age, Christian Binder knows he wants to be a chef when he grows up. He applies to the best restaurants in Germany and completes internships with Johannes King at Sylt and Kolja Kleeberg in Berlin. He trains with Michael Hoffmann in Margaux, who sents him to the newly founded elite class of Jeunes Restaurateurs in Koblenz. After further multiple positions in Alten Post with Hans Stefan Steinheuer, he works for Nils Henkel in Shanghai and in London. In 2014, Christian Binder returns to Bad Neuenahr, now as chef in Steinheuer's restaurant "Zur Alten Post". Where he is also in relationship with the chef's daughter, restaurant manager Désirée Steinheuer.

STEINHEUERS RESTAURANT „ZUR ALTEN POST“

Outstanding (and) excellence.

The perfect interplay of aromas, an excellent wine cellar that leaves nothing to be desired and an atmospheric and stylish ambience, this is Steinheuer's restaurant "Zur Alten Post". The traditional yet innovative and refined cuisine has already been awarded two Michelin stars, 19 points in Gault Millau, five F from Feinschmecker and the wine list has the highest rating from "Der Metternich".

Rheinland-Pfalz

The most important wine-growing region of the whole republic

Wine, wine, wine. It grows almost everywhere in this country: Mosel, Nahe and Ahr, Rheinhessen, Pfalz and Mittelrhein are the best known and most important wine-growing regions of the whole republic. The small federal state lies almost exclusively on the left bank of the Rhine, i.e. west of the Rhine, and is a popular holiday region with the Westerwald and northern Taunus, the Eifel, the Hunsrück and the Palatinate Forest with their rivers and fertile river valleys, and the many castles and palaces attract numerous tourists every year. Mainz and Trier, Worms and Speyer are towns that were built in Roman times or in the Middle Ages and are accordingly old and steeped in history. Idar-Oberstein an der Nahe is world-famous for its gemstone and semi-precious stone cutters and the densely wooded high areas of Rhineland-Palatinate offer ideal hiking areas where you can still meet deer, fox, pheasants and other animals.
