Rafa

The brothers Rafael y Rodrigo Andrés opened their seafood restaurant, Rafa, in Madrid in 1958. It was then a small bar in which they served rations to accompany their wine selection. Those were the modest beginnings of today´s world class restaurant now managed by their sons Rafael and Miguel Ángel. It its 50-year plus history, Rafa has made its reputation on the quality of its food and its kitchen, which has remained true to the traditional ways of cooking while, at the same time, constantly updating  its recipes, keeping up with the latest innovations.

All the stews, meat, fish and seafood dishes are prepared following traditional recipes; and they arrive at the table brought by an excellent team of professionals, many of whom have been with this house all their lives. Those looking for the best seafood from our shores come to Rafa to find it. The white prawn, the Norway lobster and the percebe, or goose barnacle, have earned a deserved prestige among the lovers of fine food. But at Rafa, the diner can also enjoy the best fish, red meat or Castillian sucking lamb, not to mention the exquisite seasonal hunting selections.
