Chef Bernard’s culinary education started under renowned chef Priska Thuring. Eager to continue his education, Bernard joined Slovenian restaurant Hiša Franko for an internship, but only one month later chef Ana Roš offered him a full-time job as sous-chef. In the winter, when the restaurant was closed, Bernard worked at Osteria Francescana with top chef Massimo Bottura.

At restaurant Korak, chef Bernard is creating 5 to 8-course tasting menus. In his exquisite dishes, he strives to unfold a taste adventure like a suspenseful thriller, each course giving way to new sensations and possibilities. With his cuisine, Bernard tells a new, exciting, and intriguing story of the coexistence of nature, local ingredients, and family. Each dish can of course be paired with an excellent glass of wine, including labels from the estate’s own winery.
Only 45 kilometers away from the capital Zagreb, lies Plešivica, a renowned wine region. Although it is the smallest wine region in Croatia, the southern slopes of Plešivica are home to the country’s most famous and most successful vineyards, with a tradition of growing vines that is measured in centuries. An interesting highlight in the town of Jastrebarsko is the historic Erdődy castle. Also worth checking out is Plešivica Wine Road, adorned by picturesque landscapes, with many cultural and historic sites, traditions, and friendly hosts. You can also enjoy various sports in the region, including hiking and cycling.

The 8-course tasting menu is based on the picturesque environment of the Korak estate and the terroir of the Plešivica region. This serves as an immeasurable source of inspiration for Chef Bernard Korak, who focuses on the current micro-season in his delicious cuisine. Price: 700 kn (8-course menu) + 300 kn (wine pairing with standard wines from the estate’s winery, vintages that are currently on the market) or + 700 kn (wine pairing with archived wines, the best vintages).
5-course tasting menu
The 5-course menu is designed to faithfully represent traditional dishes from the region but in a modern and creative way. Dishes are created with high-quality seasonal ingredients available from the property and from our local producers. Price: 550 kn (5-course menu) + 200 kn (wine pairing with standard wines from the estate’s winery, vintages that are currently on the market).
