Not by the sea, but still on the beach. At restaurant LEV.by Mike you can enjoy the beach and forest by the water, a unique setting in the Achterhoek scenery landscape. The Foodbar with lounge area, the spacious roof terrace with a view of the lido and the beautiful cooking studio make it the perfect location for a delicious lunch, an extensive dinner or just a pleasant drink evening. Dishes the size of an intermediate course are served under the motto "think global, eat local". This makes it possible to taste different dishes from the menu. In the summer season, guests can sit with their feet in the sand at the water's edge and order the dishes from LEV Beachbar.

For Mike Vrijdag, his passion for cooking starts with a ladle and cake batter. He decides to enrol in pastry school. Vrijdag wants more and starts culinary training. At restaurant De Leeuw in Lichtenvoorde, he learns that you can get far with hard work. At Hotel Frerikshof in Winterswijk and Het Koetshuis in Bennekom, he sees that, in addition to a great drive, you must also have a great passion for the profession. At Princess Juliana in Valkenburg - his first employer at two-star level - he climbs up from apprentice to chef de partie. He wants to further develop his career and decides to apply for a job at De Bokkedoorns, where he works as chef de partie. After a while, Vrijdag wants to return to the east and starts as a sous-chef at Het Koetshuis. Here, everything revolves around continuity and quality, important pillars that are rewarded with a Michelin star. In top restaurants such as De Beukenhorst and Villa Ruimzicht, he takes on the position of head chef. In 2011, Vrijdag opens his very own Restaurant Strandlodge. In 2015, Strandlodge is awarded with a Michelin star. In 2020, Mike Vrijdag decides to choose a different path and transforms Strandlodge into LEV. by Mike.

On most Dutch public holidays, you are at the right place at restaurant LEV. by Mike. Special menus with attention to the season and occassion. In addition, there are special theme nights that are organized throughout the year. There is a beer-night with matching dishes and live music. In November, they organise the 19-courses dinners. On these evenings, you'll get beautiful dishes that are served in many different ways.
LEV. by Mike is located in an area that is called the Natura 2000 area. Among other things, this means that this is a protected nature area. From the charming roof terrace, you overlook the bathing water. The bathing water dates from 1933, just as the pavilion. Together with the pavilion this is fully renovated and now again functionates as a public bathing water.
