Restaurant Scherp and B&B Sleep at Scherp are located in a monumental building in the historic center of Middelburg. On the menu you can find the most beautiful international dishes, combined with local products. A sashimi of Yellowtail from Colijnsplaat, or a delicious glass of Brut de Zélande from Schouwen-Duiveland. Hostess and wine queen Dhani has perfectly harmonised the wine list with the kitchen. At Mart and Dhani Scherp you can taste Zeeland with a modern and authentic twist. This applies not only to the menu, but also to the decoration of the restaurant and the B&B. Mart Scherp's love of cooking awakens during his first part-time job in a hotel, where he gets to fill bowls with applesauce and top them off with a cherry. During his training, Scherp interns at Nolet in Yerseke, a top quality restaurant. As an apprentice, he gets to come along to hunt and fish, because respect for nature and the product must be of paramount importance to a chef. At Nolet, he is taught a solid classical basis. After graduation, he is hired at two Michelin-starred restaurant Inter Scaldes, where he becomes a sous-chef at the age of 19. At Inter Scaldes it's all about tasting, tasting and more tasting. ‘No waste cooking' is the culinary motto of chef Maartje Boudeling. At restaurant De Bourgondiër in Vlissingen, Mart becomes head chef for the first time and his Dhani becomes host. As a team, they win the Silver Mushroom and get appreciation from Gault Millau, Lekker and a Bib Gourmand. In 2007, Mart and Dhani open Restaurant Scherp in Middelburg.

Four B&B apartments, each with its own character and a nod to Zeeland. Sleeping at Scherp has the luxury of a hotel, the privacy of an apartment and the personal touch of a B&B.
On the 1st floor of restaurant Scherp there are two rooms that offer possibilities for meetings, lunches and dinners in a private atmosphere. Unique in Middelburg and very nice for the business guest who wants to hold a meeting or for a cosy private dining with family or friends. The smaller room has an intimate atmosphere and can accommodate up to 16 people. The tastefully decorated larger room can accommodate up to 30 people.
