At restaurant De Fakkels, chef Paul-Luc Meesen pampers diners with his inventive and creative gastronomy. The passionate chef is dedicated to classical cuisine, but surely doesn’t shy away from adding a sprinkle of modernity to his traditional dishes. Next to its lunch menu, the restaurant offers three wine pairing menus: the tasting menu, the 3-course “Marc” menu, and the special JRE menu (available upon request). Restaurant De Fakkels is known for its excellent wine cellar, and with sommelier Nicole Spreuwers, you’re definitely in good hands.

Restaurant De Fakkels is located in Sint-Truiden, a city in the Flemish Region of Belgium. Sint-Truiden offers plenty of fascinating sights. One of its historical landmarks is the town hall, which features a 17th-century belfry that has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Belfries of Belgium and France. Other highlights that are worth a visit include the 15th-century Church of Our Lady (Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk), the Minderbroederskerk (for its Baroque architecture), and Huis Nagels (a magnificent notary house, built in 1892 by Louis Nagels). If you wish to explore other cities as well, the cities of Hasselt (20 km) and Tongeren (22 km) are within convenient reach.
