Self-taught chef Dario Guidi was born in 1987 in Magenta, Milan. Even though he has a degree in marketing, corporate communication, and international markets, he always felt drawn to the kitchen. Antica Osteria Magenes’ cuisine

The kitchen of chef Dario Guidi is a dynamic space, always with new ideas, new products, and new techniques. He believes it takes a team effort and discipline to achieve success. Tradition is always the starting point of his cuisine. He believes it is impossible to innovate, modify or change any type of dish without it. A new dish is often born randomly for Dario: it can be a result from a mistake, a momentary occurrence, or any situation in his daily life.  Specialties on the menu include the exquisite mallard with pumpkin, tandori, hummus with black sesame and Bordeaux sauce; and the famous risotto with beurre blanc, sage, angostura, saba and anchovy sauce. The extensive wine list will show the restaurant’s passion and commitment to finding small but significant producers. Every dish will be paired with an excellent glass of wine, to complete an extraordinary gastronomic experience.

Barate surroundings

Barate is a small town that lies on the outskirts of the city of Milan. Several UNESCO World Heritage Sites can be found nearby. The closest is the Dominican Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie with “The Last Supper” artwork by famous artist Leonardo da Vinci (14 kilometers). Other interesting historic sights include the Arco della Pace, a triumphal arch built by Luigi Cagnola on the request of Napoleon, and the impressive Duomo di Milano, one of the largest cathedrals in the world which took more than 600 years to complete.
