Restaurant Tschebull

In the heart of Hamburg’s old town, you’ll discover a piece of Austria. Here, Carinthian owner and chef Alexander Tschebull is in charge of the kitchen. Drawing on culinary inspiration from his homeland, the chef and his team present modern and refined Austrian dishes, as well as tried-and-true classics such as Wiener Schnitzel and Fiaker (beef) goulash. The chef’s restaurant has been named "the best Austrian of Hamburg" by Gault Millau, recognizing his cooking skills with two hoods. The dining room is chic, modern and stylishly furnished, and thus the ideal setting for a taste of chef Tschebull’s Alpine delights.

Tschebull’s cuisine

At restaurant Tschebull, chef Alexander serves re-interpreted Austrian cuisine with a modern twist. His specialties include classics from his homeland. Think of Wiener Schnitzel, Fiaker goulash, and Tafelspitz (Viennese-style boiled beef). As well as desserts like Kaiserschmarrn (light, caramelized pancake) and Salzburger Nockerl (sweet soufflé from Salzburg). But the menu also offers innovative creations which, in terms of taste, bridge the gap between the Mediterranean regions and the chef’s homeland. Such as the chef’s skrei cod with potato and caper champ, radish, and pearl onions. Or his sophisticated dessert creations such as elderberry soup with vanilla snow, pears, and honey jelly.

Hamburg area

Restaurant Tschebull is located in Hamburg, Germany’s second-largest city. Being home to one of Europe’s biggest harbours, Hamburg has been called the "Venice of the North. You can walk along its lovely waterways and canals, or hop on a Venetian gondola to sail along the river Alster. Three of Hamburg’s most popular sights include Miniatur Wunderland (model railway and miniature airport attraction), Port of Hamburg (seaport on the river Elbe), and Speicherstadt (the Merchants District with its characteristic red-brick architecture).
