MarconiSasso Marconi (BO), Italy
1 Michelin star
Restaurant Marconi embodies a family history that dates back to 1983. Since 2000, this gourmet gem has been in the hands of chef Aurora Mazzucchelli and her brother, maître and sommelier Massimo Mazzucchelli. After elevating the establishment’s gastronomy and décor, the siblings started receiving various awards and honours, including their first Michelin star in 2008.
In the kitchen of this renovated country house, chef Aurora Mazzucchelli cooks up fish, meat, and vegetarian dishes. Working with seasonal ingredients, she presents a highly creative and contemporary cuisine. The menu consists of imaginative and original culinary delights. For instance, maccheroni al torchio, stuffed with smoked eel, raw oysters and spinach. Chef Aurora’s meals are beautifully complemented by sommelier Massimo’s sophisticated wine selection. You can be sure that he’ll recommend the right wines for your culinary journey. Guests can wine and dine in the elegantly furnished dining room or on the terrace, which offers a terrific view.
Sasso Marconi area
Restaurant Marconi is located in the town of Sasso Marconi, Northern Italy. Until 1938, this town was known as Sasso Bolognese. Now, it’s named after Guglielmo Marconi, the famous Italian electrical engineer who invented the radio. Two interesting highlights in the area include the Guglielmo Marconi Museum and the Marzabotto Etruscan excavations. If you want to embark on a city trip, you can visit Bologna which is just a short drive away (17 km).
