Worthwhile excursion destinations are the beautiful university town of Tübingen with its medieval townscape and castle from the 16th century, and the city of Freiburg with the famous "Bächle", the narrow waterways in the alleys of the old town. And of course Lake Constance! The largest lake in Germany, the "Swabian Sea", is popular among cyclists, sailors and hikers. On the south shore, you can find the old border- and university town of Konstanz. The garden and fruit-growing island of Reichenau and the flower island of Mainau can be reached by boat.
