Giovani Oosters is niet zomaar een chef-kok. Hij leerde de kneepjes van het vak in restaurants met meerdere Michelin-sterren, zoals Hof van Cleve (Kruishoutem) en Clos Saint-Denis (Kortessem). Na zijn deelname aan het Belgische programma "Expeditie Robinson" werd hij al snel een beroemdheid. Giovanni presenteerde diverse kookprogramma's op regionale zenders, kookte in het nationale amusementsprogramma "1000 zonnen", en kreeg uiteindelijk zijn eigen kookprogramma "Groenten van Gio". Naast het uitbaten van zijn eigen hotel-restaurant, Vous lé Vous in Hasselt, is de jonge chef altijd bezig met een ander culinair project, kookworkshop, of in zijn brasserie in het hartje van Hasselt: Het Smaaksalon.

The restaurant is housed in a beautifully renovated farmhouse, which is also home to a 4-star boutique hotel (B&B) with 10 luxurious rooms and suites. It’s the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of every day. You might know Giovani from the TV show "Expedition Robinson” in Belgium, where he tried to seduce his starving fellow candidates with his extraordinary cuisine. Speaking of which: his cooking was honoured with one Michelin star, but in 2015 he voluntarily handed this star in, so he could focus on other projects such as his B&B. Nonetheless, chef Giovani’s dishes surely are star-worthy. Next to the intimate dining room, there’s also a sunny patio where you can wine and dine, if the weather allows it.
