Chef Manu Núñez studied at the Superior Hostelry Center of Santiago de Compostela. After this, he interned at several high-end kitchens such as El Amparo (Madrid) or Casa Solla (Pontevedra). His bold spirit drove him to live and work abroad in different countries, including England, Germany, and Luxembourg. The talented chef was a contestant in the Top Chef 2017 competition, just a short time after opening his first restaurant, the already iconic Arume located in Barcelona. In 2018, he wanted to renew himself and moved temporarily to Sweden, where he worked in restaurants such as Gastrologik and Nook, before returning to Spain to join the team at restaurant Besta in Barcelona.
At restaurant Besta you will find a gastronomic crossover between Catalonia and Galicia. Here, Manuel Núñez, a Galician chef based in Barcelona and co-owner of restaurant Arume, teamed up with his partner Rocío Rodríguez and Catalan chef Carles Ramon to create a gastronomic proposal that appeals to the value of their origins. At the core of their culinary ideology you will find the quality of the product, sustainability, diversity of influences, and lots of expertise from many years of travelling the world. The result is a unique dining concept that draws food lovers from near and far.
